Sorry – I don’t have VS2010, so I don’t know where they hid the Data Sources menu option. It has to be there somewhere, I imagine – you have to be able to select a Data Source for the report. I apologize for not being much help.

I am not able to print report in reportviewer.
The query is.. i want to select a date from my form and print the data from database according to the select query
Can anybody help me to write the code for this.. I am using vb.net 2008

I was new to MS Reporting and this article really helped me to setup Report and filtering the records.

See if it runs like this. If it does, the code is correct, but there is something wrong with the ‘milkmanid’ parameter in the report.

but the problem is that

error message of exception in m getting is
“An attempt was made to set a report parameter ‘milkmanid’ that is not defined in this report.”

Using report parameters would be a good tutorial to work on. You need to make use of the ReportParameters and SetParameters methods.

Here is a “quick & dirty” example of setting a “From” date and a “to” date:

First, in my report designer, I defined two parameters: “rdate1″ and “rdate2″.

Second, in my form, I defined two textboxes (txtDate1 and txtDate2) to enter the dates I will send as parameters to the report.

Third, make sure you import Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms in the form

Finally, I add the following code to the form to send dates to the report:

params(0) = New ReportParameter(“rdate1″, Me.txtDate1.Text)
params(1) = New ReportParameter(“rdate2″, Me.txtDate2.Text)
